Woman says her Amazon device recorded private conversation, sent it out to random contact https://t.co/9xRI96vSGQ— KIRO 7 (@KIRO7Seattle) May 24, 2018
Amazon is apologizing to a Seattle woman after her Alexa device recorded a private conversation and sent it out to someone on her family's contact list. Earlier this month, the woman and her husband got a call from someone who works for her husband. The employee said he'd gotten a recording of a private conversation in the couple's home. The couple told Amazon what happened and the company apologized and said its engineers would fix the problem. The couple have a number of Amazon Echo devices throughout their home. They're all unplugged now.
