Richmond Raceway and AEG Presents will hos tThe 1975’s North American Tour at Virginia Credit Union LIVE!at Richmond Raceway on Wednesday, May 22 at 7 p.m. The popular British pop-rock group’s tour is in support of their critically-acclaimed new album, “A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships.”
The 1975, one of the most popular pop-rock bands in the world, are a group originating from Manchester, England. They released their successful third full-length album,“A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships,” in November of 2018. The second part of the full-length album, “Notes on a Conditional Form,” is scheduled for release later this year.
The band’s second full-length album, “I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it,” was released in 2016. The album rocketed up the U.K. Charts and U.S. Billboard 200 to take the band mainstream globally. The band’s self-titled debut album was released in 2013 and rose to the top of the U.K. Chart in its first week.
The 1975 consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Matthew “Matty” Healy, lead guitarist Adam Hann, bassist Ross MacDonald, and drummer George Daniel. The group met in 2002 as teenagers in high school, and covered punk songs before exploring making their own original music. Their first gigs were organized by a council worker, which eventually led to the band signing as The 1975.
